Ashley brings a warm, kind, and calm, steady presence to the counselling space. With a compassionate and non-judgemental approach, she creates a safe and affirming space, where together, you can explore and make sense of your inner world. Ashley will support you in making sense of your experience, understanding your obstacles, highlighting your strengths and resources, clarifying your personal values and aspirations, and cultivating a meaningful path forward. Ashley is humbled by this work and is honoured to support you in your journey.
Using an integrated and evidence-based approach, Ashley works collaboratively with her clients to organize a space and process that is tailored to their unique needs and goals. Ashley uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Her practice is also informed by attachment theory, neurobiology, and somatic therapies.
Before becoming a clinical counsellor, Ashley worked with people in a variety of roles designing and supporting processes for learning, growth, and change. As an outdoor nature educator, public school science teacher, and environmental sustainability consultant, she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of curiosity, compassion, relationship, and engaging with what is meaningful, as necessary conditions for lasting, transformational change. These insights inform the way Ashley approaches therapeutic work.
Ashley works with individuals (11 years and up) and couples.
Ashley is grateful to live in the beautiful Comox Valley with her partner, two young kids, and very large, lovable dog.
