ASIST Workshop

Pacific Therapy offers Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshops in the Comox Valley community. ASIST is a two-day, evidence-based training that teaches participants how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan. This training is only delivered in-person and is open to anyone who would like to improve their skills and comfort in talking about suicide and preventing deaths.

This training is not therapy, nor is it designed for processing grief in the wake of a recent suicide, though participants’ experiences are valued during the workshop. Our next ASIST will be on April 01 and 02, 2025, 8:30am-4:30pm at the Military Family Resource Centre (1575 Military Row, Comox).

Registration:

To register, please call our office at 250-338-2700 during business hours (8:30am-4:30pm weekdays) to provide the names, phone numbers, and emails of all participants you would like to register. We will also ask you to provide a credit card number to hold the training spots. If you would like to pay a different way, we will still ask you to provide a credit card number, but will invoice you closer to the workshop date and you can pay then via debit, cash, or e-transfer.

Cancellation policy: occasionally we may have to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances or lack of registrations. In this case we will return your full registration fee. If you cancel your registration more than one week ahead of the workshop date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within one week, you will receive half of your registration fee back.
