ASIST Workshop

Pacific Therapy offers Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshops in the Comox Valley community. ASIST is a two-day, evidence-based training that teaches participants how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan. This training is only delivered in-person and is open to anyone who would like to improve their skills and comfort in talking about suicide and preventing deaths.

This training is not therapy, nor is it designed for processing grief in the wake of a recent suicide, though participants’ experiences are valued during the workshop. If you have questions about whether ASIST is a good fit for you or for your organization, please reach out to our office for a free consultation. 

For interested organizations, we can also set up an in-house workshop specifically for your group at a discounted group rate – reach out to our office.

Registration  Steps:

1. Fill out registration form 
If you are interested in taking this workshop yourself or want to register a number of people in our upcoming workshop, please use the form below to share your registration details. It should download as a fillable pdf that can be emailed back to us. Alternatively, you are welcome to print it out and bring it with your payment to our office.
NOTE: you are not fully registered until you pay the registration fee in addition to providing your information.

2. Submit payment
You may submit your registration payment ($300) through e-transfer to admin@pacifictherapy.ca, by calling us to do credit card payment over the phone, or by bringing cash/debit/credit card to our office (1550 Lake Trail Rd., Courtenay)
during business hours (9am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday).

Cancellation policy: occasionally we may have to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances or lack of registrations. In this case we will return your full registration fee. If you cancel your registration more than one week ahead of the workshop date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within one week, you will receive half of your registration fee back.
